Gold faced Cobra 29?
Was wondering if anyone could me identify this radio as a gold face Cobra 29

Here is a bit of info on that radio. It may have been made in the Phillipines in 1989

That looks like a regular 29 only in gold

That's exactly what I was thinking. Maybe just stained or something.
Yes, the radio you have is a Cobra 29 LTD Classic with a gold faceplate. The date code "rDE220" indicates that it was manufactured in October 1989. The serial number "A90022020" is also consistent with a Cobra 29 LTD Classic.

Maybe it's a regular Cobra 29 Classic which was owned by a heavy smoker?
