Palomar / Boomer/ Power Deluxe 35a - broken reset switch

#396904

Post by sidjones1 »

Hi all,
I would appreciate some help in reading this schematic:
palomar_elite500.pdf
I recently bought this unit from the daughter of an older man who died. The unit is VERY clean inside and out... except the reset button in the front is broken. The way the unit powers on is to first turn it on, then hit the reset button which supplies power to the amp side. You can see this demonstrated on this video at the 28:10 mark :

Questions: Is this reset button a micro on/off or is it a momentary switch that fires a relay???
If it is a momentary... is the switch normally open and then closed when pushed?

Many thanks in advance for your advice. Sid :-)

Since he stated that it has to be pushed to engage the relay it would be a "normally open" switch.

No luck... I put in a new momentary switch and only the front DC power works... nothing on the amp side.
Checked all the fuses too. Guess I have to take it in.
